This group has about 65 members and they meet at Boreham Village Hall near Chelmsford during the winter months for talks.  In summer they go on garden visits. Please contact Ann for further information. 

Garden visits

 

Our garden visits this year will be approximately £6 to members, and will usually include tea and cakes.

Monday 15th April 2pm

 

Elwy Lodge. West Bowers Rd. Woodham Walter CM9 6RZ  A return visit to this beautiful garden in early spring. Flowing lawns, herbaceous borders, trees, wildlife pond. Peaceful surroundings, lovely views.

 

 

 

Monday 20th May 2pm.

 

Carrisbrooke. Chelmsford Rd. Causeway End, Felsted CM6 3ET  A small but delightful garden with a wide variety of interesting plants, belonging to an enthusiastic and knowledgeable gardener.

 

Monday 17th June 2pm

 

The Wilderness Foundation, Chatham Green Project,

 

Hyde Hall Farm, Whitbread’s Farm Lane Chatham Green CM3.

 

A visit to see the conservation work of this project, following the talk from a representative of the group last year.

 

Monday 22nd July 2pm

 

New Acres , Burnham Rd, Althorne CM3 6BT  Return visit after some years. Farm, orchard and little museum of Essex bygones. 

 

 

 

Monday 5th August 2pm

 

Cressing Temple Barns. Witham Rd. Braintree CM77 8PD   Walled garden and grounds. Possible tour with head gardener.

 

 

 

Monday 25th September 2pm

 

The Lodge, Captains Wood Rd, Maldon CM9 8PU

 

Return visit to these lovely  woodlands and garden.

 

 

 

Monday 14th October 2pm

 

Marks Hall Gardens and Arboretum.  Private visit for us. Tour if required. Arboretum for Autumn colours. Walled garden project.
